Vitamin D for Colon Cancer. Will Vitamin D lower Colon cancer? It is reported in businessweek.com that having high level of Vitamin D in the blood is significantly related to lower risks of colorectal cancer.
In the online publication of a research done by BMJ, where more than 520,000 people from 10 countries in Western Europe participated. The respondents were asked to submit blood samples as well as answer a diet and lifestyle questionnaires between 1992 and 1998. The study team then did a tracking of what happened to them for several years.
In the follow up period of the study, there were 1,248 were diagnosed with colorectal cancer. The researchers are still undergoing continuous efforts on the study for stronger basis in concluding that abundant content of Vitamin D really lowers the occurrence of Colon Cancer.
