Cucumber has a lot of great health benefits

Cucumber is perhaps one of the most used elements in any salad at home or in the restaurants. It is easy to grow, prepare and serve.

According to many references out there, cucumbers belong to the same family as squash, pumpkin, and watermelon. It is 95 percent water, hence it is good specially during summer times.

Cucumbers do contain vitamin K, and minerals such as B vitamins, copper, potassium, vitamin C, and manganese.

Potassium helps the cells, tissues, and organs of the body function properly. It is an electrolyte in the basic sense - a substance that conducts electricity in the body.

Cucumbers contain polyphenols. It is the name that is used to refer to plant-based molecules that have  antioxidant properties. Such things do regulate the body's enzyme functions.

In my short series of readings online, cucumbers can help in protecting the brain as it has anti-inflammatory flavonol called fisetin. Thus, it fights inflammation.

It can also reduce the risk of cancer.

Aside from the fact that it can freshen one's breath, cucumbers are also rich in fibers. It makes them as great agents in maintaining a healthy digestive system.
